Pollbanking MATH – How We Get Andrew Above 8% in Polls and How We Get YouGov to Pay For Our Q4 Donation

Yang Gang – Introducing Pollbanking!

How We Get Andrew Above 8% in Polls:

YouGov is an Internet-based market research and data analytics firm that conducts surveys, including polls about the Democratic presidential nomination. Anyone can sign up for YouGov polls, so there is absolutely no reason not to, especially when we, Yang Gang, are underrepresented in other polls which relies heavily on landlines (The recent Emerson poll got us to 8%, probably because they use a combination of landlines and online polling).

YouGov partners with different news companies (e.g. Economist) to conduct Democratic primary polls. In particular, the YouGov/CBS poll is a DNC approved qualifying poll, so signing up (and if you're chosen, answering the poll) will directly help Andrew qualify for the December debate (DNC is likely to raise to thresholds again) and beyond!

How We Get YouGov to Pay For Our Q4 Donation:

You get "points" which you can redeem for cash/gift cards when you answer YouGov surveys (on any topics, not limited to the democratic primary). I just answered a 3-min survey about impeachment today and received 1000 points, which is equivalent to $1 if you choose to cash out through direct deposit. This may seem trivial, but I've looked around and it seems that the average number of surveys/week for YouGov is 3 (varies based on your demographics).

Here's the MATH:

$1/poll x 3 polls/week x 12 weeks left in Q4 = $36

When you sign up, you get 2000 points right away. If you use my referral link, you get a bonus of 2000 points once you answer 4 surveys. That's another $4 on top of $36, which brings us to $40, which can go towards our Q4 donation.

$40 x 300,000 donors (number of Q3 donors) = $12 million paid by YouGov!

P.S.: For those who think (it certainly crossed my mind) that signing up for YouGov is "cheating" or unfair to the other candidates, would it still be cheating if we all got landlines? After all, signing up for YouGov only increases the chance that our voice is heard; we still have to be lucky enough to be polled. It's not like a straw poll on twitter where anyone/bots can vote.
